AWESOME GIVEAWAY: 2 Tickets to Relatively Speaking

What I love about Broadway is the never-ending innovation expressed through new shows. Relatively Speaking continues this tradition as it combines three one-act plays by some heavy hitters in the entertainment world - Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen. Each comedy explores the inanity of family, from weddings to death to just plain old craziness. And can't we all relate to that?

All my readers are in luck! I'm giving away a pair of tickets to see Relatively SpeakingThe tickets are good through October 19. There are 5 easy ways to win and each comment counts as an entry. Please include your email in any comments so I know how to contact you if you are the winner.

  2. Pretty much all our wacky family stories from my childhood involve me vomiting, lol...you see, I used to get bad motion sickness as a kid, which made traveling a challenge. On one long cab trip in DC after a long plane trip, the cabbie had to pull over because I threw up...on my sister's finger, which then made her barf when she saw it! :) She also still teases me about the time on a boat trip in Capri when I had to throw up and the only bag handy to use was the bag of shells she had collected on the beach that day, lol.

  6. my crazy family story:
this one happened just the other day...
the chinese food delivery man rang out bell. whatever he did, he messed it up. We didnt notice that until later on. My husband and I were ready to go to bed and shut the TV and everything off. Then the doorbell rang. At that time, neither of us wanted to go downstairs. So we looked out the window. No one was there. So I am thinking the worst. I am like this is how the crazy people trick you. They hide out in the hallway that way they can get ya when you go out to answer the bell. So then it happened a couple more times. I called my parents to come over so we had backup when we searched the house. So they came and realized that the chinese delivery guy pushed the bell to hard and messed the wired up. What a relief! cindy0462@gmail.com

  10. My father loved his tomato plants so much. Every summer,he would drive the family car to a farm to buy cow manure. He used the backseat of our car to haul the manure.

  16. Crazy family story . . . how abot this. My Dad's cousin got divorced after having 2 chidren, who continued to live with her. Eventually she remarried a guy who also had been previously married and had children of his own, but his kids lived with his first wife.

Anyway eventually her daughter married his son, so instead of giving up her Mom's last name, she gained it instead.

I can draw a flowchart if anyone is confused

  20. my crazy family story (how to choose just one...): 2 years ago my family was dining at a very fancy nyc restaurant for my dad's birthday. all of a sudden, in the middle of our entrees, my mom's head started lolling toward the table. she's prone to fainting, and we all realized she was about to faint right into her plate of food. we were able to move her fish away just in time for my dad to catch her head before it hit the table. the manager came over and took her into a special back room, and you'd think after that we would have paid for the meal and left. but no, my dad wanted to finish the dining experience, and that meant staying for dessert and finishing our wine. so after spending 30 minutes in the back room with my mom while she recuperated, we all returned to the table and got dessert. my mom claims there was too much butter in the food, but who really knows! certainly made for an exciting birthday celebration.

  24. We don't have too many nusto family stories unfortunately. I guess my crazy family story was the time we went to get a family portrait (at a nice studio) and I was about 13 at the time. I was angry that my mom kept trying to tell me what to wear so I rebelled by sporting a hideous white velour scrunchie from Limited 2. My mom and I kept bickering about the scrunchie. Even between shots! (The photographer looked highly uncomfortable.) Eventually, to ease the peace, my dad suggested that she just to let me wear it. I secretly wish she won out that day because the portrait actually turned out beautiful and the only thing awkward about it is me grinning like a fool with a repulsive white scrunchy blaring from my head.

  26. My crazy family story: Let me tell you about how my mom acquired 8 crazy kids - without giving birth to any of them! In her 20s my mom was married to a man who had 3 toddlers of his own with an ex-wife. Once they divorced several years later, she adopted his 3 children. A few years later she decided she wanted to adopt, so she adopted a little baby boy from India. Then she decided she wanted a little girl from India, so I came along. A few years later she remarried and then came 3 new step-children. And that is my crazy story of my crazy big family!
