AWESOME GIVEAWAY: 2 Concerts at Carnegie Hall

It's been a while since I've hosted a giveaway so it's high time that gets fixed! If you have never been to Carnegie Hall, or even if you have been a hundred times, it is a wonderful place--perhaps the best in the city--to listen to music. Here are a couple concerts you should check out coming up in May with giveaways for both of them!

Friday, May 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM
Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall
Tickets from $20 (Use code DCG21214 for 50% off!)
Call CarnegieCharge at 212-721-6500 or Visit CarnegieHall.org

Southern hymns and down-home harmonies blend with the traditional instrumental sounds of a bluegrass band to create Come Away to the Skies: A High, Lonesome Mass. This exciting new choral work makes its New York premiere at Carnegie Hall, courtesy of Distinguished Concerts Orchestra and Distinguished Concerts Singers International. Composed by Wes Ramsey and Tim Sharp, who'll be on hand to conduct, the piece is set to be accompanied live by the Chuck Nation Band.

Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem offer the drama of opera and the thrill of wonderful symphonic writing combined with stellar, virtuosic solo moments. The progression of the piece tells the ultimate dramatic story, from profound loss in the subdued key of A minor at the start to sheer terror at what lies ahead on judgment day. Distinguished Concerts Orchestra and the Distinguished Concerts Singers International perform this piece in a unique and larger-than-life rendition rarely seen on the New York Stage!

AWESOME GIVEAWAY: 2 Tickets to Carnegie Hall Bluegrass Concert

When you think of Carnegie Hall, what kind of music do you think of? Classical? Opera? Bluegrass? Well even if the latter didn't pop into your head, it's certainly about to.

On Sunday June 8, Grammy-Nominated Country Music Artists Dailey and Vincent will be joined by a 200 voice choir for an exhilarating performance of The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass by Carol Barnett, a thrilling work combining the solemnity of a classical choir-based Mass with the distinctly American sound of banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. Dailey and Vincent will also perform a set of their own material from across their vast repertoire while the New York Premiere of John Purifoy’s The Chronicles of Blue and Gray will round out the program.

Tickets start at just $20 and are available via www.carnegiehall.org, CarnegieCharge at 212.247.7800, and the Carnegie Hall Box office at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue.

Good news! I'm giving away a pair of tickets to the show. Be sure to use the form below to enter (following all instructions!) by Friday May 16. A winner will be announced next week. Good luck!

AWESOME GIVEAWAY: Pairs of Tickets to 2 Carnegie Hall Concerts

It's hard to realize how much of a gem both Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center are when you walk by them every day and they seem to blend into the general hubbub of Midtown. However, I cannot stress enough how important it is that you go to a concert at either venue if you have never been. Upon entering the majestic theaters, you will feel transported to a time when ladies wore gloves and men wore top hats to the opera and when orchestral music was commonly enjoyed by all.

I would like to highlight 2 upcoming concerts and...SURPRISE...giveaway a pair of tickets to each! Both giveaways will end at midnight on Tuesday April 8th. Make sure to follow the instructions in order to win :)

AWESOME GIVEAWAY: Carnegie Hall Concerts

Carnegie Hall is just one of those places you have to check out a concert or two in while you're living in or visiting New York City. You may say that you aren't a fan of classical music or that the sound of the violin puts you to sleep, but there's something about the acoustics/atmosphere of Carnegie Hall that just brings the music to life and gives you a whole new appreciation.

Lucky for you, I'm announcing my 3rd giveaway of the week - I believe it's a new record! Distinguished Concerts International is sponsoring three concerts over the next month at Carnegie Hall and has given me 4 pairs of tickets to give away for each concert. That's 12 pairs of tickets people! The concerts available are on Friday 3/2 at 8pm featuring Soprani Compagni,  Friday 3/16 at 8pm featuring Trio Lorca, and Saturday 3/24 at 2pm featuring The Werner Chamber Quartet. All concerts will be held in the Weill Recital Hall and tickets are valued at $50 each.

Since one concert is much sooner than the others, I've switched up how I'm asking you to enter these giveaways. You have until tomorrow 2/29 at 5pm to enter for the 3/2 concert and until Friday 3/6 at 5pm to enter for the 3/16 and 3/24 concerts. You have to fill out a form for each concert you would like to go to, so technically you could win tickets for all three concerts. Follow the directions on the forms and good luck!
